Meet the Trainer:

Hello everyone! My name is Courtney and I am a Certified Fitness Trainer with the International Sports Science Association (ISSA). I have been involved with fitness for most of my life, mostly through sport programs but also just for fun on the side. Competitively I have participated in swimming and soccer, and for recreation I enjoy snowblading, cycling, kayaking, and playing volleyball. My other interests include drawing, reading, traveling, and animals (especially marine mammals).

Besides being a Certified Fitness Trainer with the ISSA, I also hold a B.S. Degree in Biobehavioral Health from Penn State University. Biobehavioral Health focuses on the roles of one’s behavior, psychology, and culture in creating an entire health picture. Studying this field is what sparked my interest in teaching others the benefits of exercise because, with every new disease or condition I studied, exercise sprang forth as one of the most efficient ways to prevent the illness, to decrease associated risk factors, and even treat some conditions. Exercise seems to be the wonder drug that everyone is seeking and I’ve made it my mission to help as many people discover it as possible.
